Nelson
The country’s Sunshine Capital is on the shores of Tasman Bay. Nelson is a small city of artists, fishermen and lovers of the great outdoors. As one of New Zealand’s oldest European settlements and favourite summer destinations, Nelson is relaxed and postcard perfect. It has three national parks on its doorstep, stunning beaches, tidal estuaries and rugged mountains.
It is also home to dozens of vineyards, orchards, cafes, and galleries. There are fine restaurants specialising in Nelson’s celebrated seafood - or you can dive for your own delicious Tasman Bay scallops whilst kayaking/tramping the wonderland of the Abel Tasman National Park.
