Fiordland

In the South West New Zealand World Heritage Area, Fiordland is a vast and magnificent wilderness. Its staggering beauty is matched only by its scale and wild isolation. Established in 1952, Fiordland is New Zealand’s biggest national park, drawing thousands of tourists each year. Sprawling across 1.2 million hectares of backcountry and waterways it is accessible only by helicopter or boat.

Snowy mountain peaks and sheer cliff faces tower over hidden valleys thick with native bush. Massive waterfalls cascade hundreds of feet into the park’s many fiords and sounds. At the foot of New Zealand’s second biggest lake, Te Anau is the gateway to Fiordland. Although accessible mostly by helicopter, the road between Te Anau and Milford Sound is one of the world’s most spectacular.

Take an overnight cruise on Milford Sound followed by a stunning flight over the park, stopping on one of the many glaciers. The world famous Milford Track ends on the shores of breathtaking Milford Sound.
